Newport Flower Show: Gilded Age Glamour with Living Art The Summer Event Season is in full swing with the unofficial official kick-off at the Newport Flower Show at Preservation Society of Newport County’s world famous Rosecliff. A party as lavish as those from the Gilded Age. Feature a fabulous collection of flower entries and local vendors. At the show’s Open Night Preview Party, TEN31 installed an immersive collection of interactive performance art including our annual favorite, the Living Topiary, Lemonleaf Dancers. Our trio of dancers from our dance company Metamorphosis wearing Bird inspired costumes inspired by drawing of John James Audubon and works and costumes by legendary American dance pioneer Loie Fuller returned for an encore performance. Originally produced for the Flower Show in 2016. To see the premier performance watch: FLIGHT Guests were greeted by The Boxwoods, living human topiaries figures to the delight of guests. Each performance location offered staggered photo ops for guests to engage and interact with performers. We are very proud and thankful for our decades long partnership with PSNC and always delighted to be a part of this fundraising event which helps support their preservation efforts. Nautical Party Entertainment: The Living Mermaid & Legends of the SeaWe returned a few weeks later to be part of another local non-profit charity event for Boys and Girls Clubs Of Newport RI held at the Newport Shipyard. As part of the event, guests toured ships and yachts docked at the piers and were welcomed by the TEN31 Living Mermaid. Our living Mermaid is a client favorite, perfect for nautical themed events or seaside parties. To see the evolution of this piece watch Mermaid Evolution. The Mermaid is part of our theme package Legends of the Sea. It features living statues like the Mermaid, Neptune and the Sea Captain as well as roving entertainers like the Jellyfish Puppets and the Vintage Scuba Diver! The Elms Mansion: Living Statues for Elegant CelebrationsNewport has us coming back soon after to perform at the Elms. The Elms is a stunning location for living art as there are many sculptures that adorn the Gild Age Mansion and the stunning Gardens. We partnered with the local organization of the Commanderie de Bordeaux. This organization dates to the late 1950's when some Bordeaux wine lovers launched the first chapter in New York. The party’s entertainment consisted of live strings trio and four living statues; a bronze portraying Jean-Babtiste Rochembeau, a Living Champagne Bar bookend by living marble Grecian Muses. Guests were greeted at the Mansion’s front door by none other than Bacchus, a marble and patina statue. No wine celebration is complete without the God of Wine! Cheers to summer and many fabulous celebrations to come! Looking to elevate your next event with truly unique entertainment?
